Earth Day is right around the corner, and the educators at Mobile Ed Productions, Inc. are getting excited for spring! Our educators love teaching about our environment in spring when plants begin to grow again and animals come out of hiding. Students and teachers alike can’t help but be amazed by the wonders of our home planet when they experience the Earth Dome. Mobile Ed Productions, Inc. has been the leader in education-based entertainment since 1979. Passionate about education in young students, our team aims to make learning interactive and engaging for students of all ages covering a variety of subjects. 42 years later, we are now serving educators across the nation via in-person and virtual educational assemblies. 

Our Story

A school teacher and administrator in the Livonia Public Schools, Larry Thompson knew there was a need to make his school lessons more enjoyable for his students and saw a lack of assemblies available for schools. Thompson, as seen in this photo, was also a televised magician and sidekick to Bozo the Clown known as Mr. Whoodini. After airing the show each morning, he’d run over to his classroom to start teaching (sometimes still in his costume!). His students thought this was so cool! Larry Thompson founded Mobile Ed Productions, Inc. with his father-in-law, Norman Seay, in Redford, Michigan, back in 1979 to bring a little magic to his classroom.

We are proud to announce that today marks the 40th anniversary of Mobile Ed Productions!

It was 40 years ago today that our founders, Larry Thompson and Norman Seay, had the idea to bring the field trip to you.  It all started with one show, The Amazing World of Light, and from there grew to our present library of over 40 educational assembly programs.

Take a trip around the planets with our brand-new astronomy assembly

We're excited to announce an exciting new science assembly - Our Solar System!  Developed by one of our most experienced and educated performers, Our Solar System uses our Sky Dome planetarium dome and digital projector to take your students on a trip around, well, our solar system!

One of the most popular Ben Franklin impersonators in the country, Brian Mulligan, will be touring with Mobile Ed Productions this year performing his original one-man show "Ben Franklin: America's Inventor".  Brian Mulligan has made a name for himself not only as the Ben Franklin impersonator seen on Comedy Central's Workaholics, the documentary America: Facts VS Fiction, and The Jay Leno Show, he also has extensive experience performing for children.
