With more than 25 years of experience producing educational assembly programs and following on the successes of our previous historical programs, Mobile Ed Productions presents our newest show, Buckeye Bob and the Ghosts of Ohio's Past, a program designed around the fourth grade history and social studies standards for the state of Ohio. This is a new type of program for Mobile Ed aimed specifically at the curriculum needs of one state and one grade level.

Buckeye Bob, a wily frontiersman from the early 19th century, entertains the students with tales from Ohio's early history. Having just woken from a long "sleep", Bob tells the students of his experiences in early Ohio. His rustically charming personality and oratory is supported by an on-going, high-tech, interactive video presentation providing the audience with maps, timelines, and photos. In addition, this presentation includes actors on film portraying "ghosts" from Ohio's past sharing their individual stories with the audience and with Bob who is able to engage in illuminating and sometimes hilarious conversations with the on-screen characters.

Buckeye Bob provides an overview of Ohio's history from prehistoric times through the mid 19th century with material related to native groups, both historic and prehistoric as well as different waves of European migration and the interactions, sometimes bloody, between the different groups. We deal with the importance of rivers, canals, roads, and railroads in the development of the state, while clearly demonstrating how the geographical boundaries of the state grew out of natural as well as man-made boundaries.

With Bob, students will learn what day-to-day life was like for the early settlers, and the story of how Ohio progressed from unexplored Indian territory to become the nation's newest state in 1803.

Join us this year to meet Buckeye Bob and allow him to take your fourth graders on an entertaining educational odyssey into Ohio's past!
