Stronger Than A Bully

At last! An anti bullying program!

For years Mobile Ed has received requests asking that we please offer some kind of anti bullying program. And there is no doubt that a need exists in schools for assistance in this area. Bullying leads to depression, low self esteem, health problems, poor grades and even suicidal thoughts. Bullying creates an environment where students have trouble learning, feel insecure, and dislike school. Plus studies have shown that 23 percent of students in grades 4-6 have been bullied several times and 8% are bullied weekly. Clearly this is a problem that needs to be addressed.

Mobile Ed, therefore, is proud to present our newest program for 2011-2012, Stronger Than A Bully! Based on techniques aimed at empowering the victim, this fast paced interactive school assembly program is packed with important lessons imparted through lots of audience participation, magic, ventriloquism, role playing, comedy and FUN!

Stronger Than A Bully features extensive use of two acronyms designed to push important points aimed at helping students avoid becoming the victim of a bully.

The first of these is S.M.I.L.E. which stands for: Stay cool, Make eye contact (take a positive posture), Identify the attack (verbal, physical, extorting, cyber, etc), Lead positive conversation, Erase the attack. These represent the actions for the person being bullied.

The second acronym explains the actions a bystander should take. H.E.R.O. or - Help out (get involved), Empathize (identify with the victim), Respond with proper action and Report the incident. Open communication (talk about it with the victim).

Stronger Than A Bully	Program Summary
Grade Level:	K-6
Size:	A performance area at least 10' x 20' is recommended exclusive of audience area.
Workshop Availability:	No
Performance Time:	40-45 minutes
Setup Time:	60 minutes (15 minutes between performances)
Teardown Time:	45 minutes
Required Utilities:	Two 6'-8' banquet tables. Custodial or adult assistance for load in and load out.
