Mobile Ed School Assembly Dog of The Month for February! Deuce!

Posted on Mon, Feb 11, 2013

School Assembly DogAs we scurry about frantically getting every little thing in order for next year's school show tours, we have welcomed someone new into our family here at Mobile Ed Productions. No, this little Michigan native is not a new school assembly performer, though who is to say he might not be part of a show in the future. Nor is he someone new joining our office team here in Redford, Michigan, helping to put you in touch with the best school shows in the country, though we do expect he will be hanging around the office quite a bit. No, this new addition is Mobile Ed's newest Dog of the Month!

Our new arrival is an eight week old Belgian Malinois named “Deuce”

And boy is he cute. He already has totally charmed the entire office as well as all the various performers and delivery people who have come by so far.school show dog1 resized 600

For those who are not familiar with the breed, Belgian Malinois are a shepherd breed. Many have been used by police and the military as they have proven very adept at such work as sniffing out explosives, as well as in search and rescue missions. The Navy Seals use these dogs. In fact, Deuce is the exact same breed as the very famous Cairo, the dog who accompanied Seal Team Six on the raid against Osama bin Laden. In appearance they are similar to a German Shepherd, but at fully grown are slightly smaller.

Deuce is actually the newest addition to the family of Mobile Ed representative Ken Jacobs. (Ken is the one on the left, by the way. The cute one on the right is Deuce... heh heh heh - sorry Ken!). Ken is no novice when it comes to Belgian Malinois. He has had several. One was a beauty named Gatan who lived with Ken for 15 years before passing away nearly three years ago. His kids are very happy with the new puppy, to say the least!

Ken is good friends with breeder Cheryl Carlson, whose Cher Car Kennels in Lansing, Michigan is responsible for the careful breeding of these dogs, as well as for their training for police forces, Navy Seals, and, of course, families throughout the Midwest.

We don't expect Deuce will spend much time with police or military, but we do wonder how Deuce will take to the smells emanating from the chemistry lab in our “skunkworks”  backroom, where all our great science shows are created.

Regardless, he is a welcome addition to the Mobile Ed School Assembly Team, and we are all very pleased he is on board!

So here is to Mobile Ed's February School Assembly Dog of the Month – Deuce!
