Get Ready for the Solar Eclipse with these 5 Steps!

Are you planning on viewing the eclipse next month? The United States will experience a total solar eclipse on April 8th, and you’re not going to want to miss this once-in-a-lifetime event! It's science happening right outside our window, and everyone will be able to experience it across the country. Be sure students make the most of this amazing event with these 5 steps.

A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth in the correct alignment to block the Sun from Earth fully or partially, depending on your location. Though only some states will see the eclipse in totality, the rest of the country will be able to experience the partial eclipse! This year, the total solar eclipse will start in Texas and end in Maine. Americans will be able to see the solar eclipse from all over. View the map below to see how much of the eclipse you will see in your area!

A map of the contiguous U.S. shows the path of the 2024 total solar eclipse stretching on a narrow band from Texas to Maine.

Mobile Ed has been the industry leader for educational entertainment for 45 years! We are passionate about getting students of all ages excited about learning, and we believe the best way to do that is through entertaining and engaging experiences. We are best known for our portable SkyDome Planetarium!

The SkyDome Planetarium is our most loved assembly by students and is one of the most immersive ways to teach students about space. With high-quality visuals, animations, and videos, this program will give students K-8 an up-close tour of the universe. Each session is adjusted to the grade level and maturity of the students so that students and teachers get the most out of our program. Our curriculum aligns with many state standards including the Next Generation Science Standards

The SkyDome Planetarium has become a tradition for many schools as both teachers and students love the immersive experience. We can't help it; we bring science lessons to life! We recently visited Middleburgh Elementary, and here's what they had to say about their SkyDome experience:

"The presenter was excellent with kids of all ages. The faces of our littlest when they walked in the gym and saw the dome was priceless- the WOW factor was reached!"
