Here at Mobile Ed our staff is hard at work wending our way through the logistical nightmare of trying to create our school assembly schedules for next year. We visit a lot of states and we carry a lot of programs. Each year we try to arrange tour itineraries that bring the right number of school shows and the right number of dates to each area of the country. We work to avoid bringing tours through, say, Ohio in April when they are testing. school assemblies testing resized 600We try to avoid having too many tours in any one state at the same time, but rather to spread things around. We also try to route tours carefully so that our magnificent performers are not leaving, say Louisville, Kentucky on a Tuesday afternoon and performing Wednesday in New Jersey. Things like that. And then there are concerns of a personal nature. RoJo needs to be in Michigan in September for a Dentist appointment. David needs to be home in Northern, Michigan for his son’s birthday in October. Kathleen has to be back in Springfield, Ohio in November to photograph a friend’s wedding. And so on. It is a nightmare. But by early March, like bears coming out of hibernation, bleary-eyed and hungry, we emerge from planning sessions clutching next years schedules in hand. And the new year begins again.school assemblies bear resized 600

Most of our long time clients know that the very best time to schedule is early in the Spring. Just like those same bears at a salmon run, the very best “catch” is available in the early Spring. Looking for an Abe Lincoln school assembly on Mr. Lincoln’s birthday? Call in March. Looking for a “character counts” school assembly to kick off your year on the first day of school? Call in March. Looking for a portable planetarium right before Halloween? Call in March.

So check your budget for school assemblies. Talk to your staff and make plans for next year. Look at your calendar and pick the best time for hosting school shows to fit your year’s events. Now the time is getting short. The clock is ticking... and the bears are at the starting gate!school assemblies bears2 resized 600
