Maybe you are in sunny California, or some other part of the world where the rigors of winter are not currently affecting you, but here in the Midwest we are getting hammered. Following two weeks off for the holidays, our office was scheduled to reopen this morning, but Mother Nature had other ideas, I guess.

I finally got out to see a performance of our newest science assembly last week! Wow! I am so pleased, and so were the kids in the audience at the school in Clio, Michigan where this awesome show show took place!

We have written recently about using science school shows or a school assembly based in history or social studies to entice kids to visit the library over the summer or on holidays. Well, here is an article about a pair of librarians in two completely different parts of the country collaborating on a series of projects to achieve the same end.

School assemblies are great for putting into a palatable and entertaining form current issues that kids need to know about. In Ohio and Indiana, some of our schools are doing just that!
