8 Activities to Help You Celebrate Reading this March

March is designated as National Reading Month after Dr. Seuss’s March-2nd birthday. The well-known author and illustrator has more than 60 books published, and honoring the writer encourages Americans of all ages to read every day during March. Though our classrooms incorporate reading and writing all year long, our educators at Mobile Ed Productions, Inc. have a few activities we like to do when March comes around to mix up our regular reading routines.

15 Books to Read with your Students During Women’s History Month

For decades, the United States has been celebrating and honoring the women who have contributed to our history, society, and culture during the month of March. Milestones of women can often be overlooked, so this time of year is dedicated to noticing, appreciating, and understanding the important women who may be left out of the classroom and social discussions. As educators, we have the important opportunity to encourage the study of these women, inside and outside of our classrooms. 

George Washington’s life story is also the story of the beginning of our nation. At the convention to revise the Articles of Confederation, George Washington was unanimously voted to be the convention’s President. His quiet presence at the convention encouraged compromise, healthy debate, and unity between delegates. His part in the creation of the United States constitution still has an immense influence on us today. We’ve honored George Washington with an incredible monument and a federal holiday, but Mobile Ed Productions, Inc. invites you to bring the celebrations of George Washington into your classroom this year. 

It’s a well-known fact that our fingerprints are completely unique to each of us. Mobile Ed Productions, Inc. has an easy forensic science experiment that will help your students take a closer look at the patterns that make us unique while laying a foundation for how science is used in crime investigation. For educators that teach remotely, this project can easily be completed at home.

Global X, an investment company, claims that due to low-interest rates, increasing labor costs, and delayed supply chains, there is high potential for “a huge surge in spending on robotics and artificial intelligence” in 2022, making this new year the “golden era” for new robotics. New technologies are not going anywhere but will become even more accessible to us and our students. The Mobile Ed Time Machine has been in the works for some time now. Our Mobile Ed Productions, Inc. “Scientists” have finally perfected our time machine, and we want to bring it to your classroom! Many of our programs use the Mobile Ed Time Machine to teach students about important times in history, but our Martin Luther King, Jr. program is one of our educators’ favorites. In our Martin Luther King Jr. program, students are invited to travel back in time with Dr. King himself to experience a first-hand account of what it meant to lead the Civil Rights movement in the twentieth century. 

The National Education Association, the largest teachers union in the United States, has sent a letter to the CEOs of TikTok, Facebook Inc., Instagram, and Twitter Inc. calling for control over the spread of viral challenges and false information on their social media platforms. These viral challenges and the spread of misinformation have made educators’ lives significantly challenging this past year.
